In a 1982 article published in the MUFON UFO Journal, Gordon wrote that investigators documented more than 100 creature reports involving more than 250 witnesses during the 1973 wave. He also reported that some creature sightings occurred shortly before or after UFO reports in the same general areas.
These were reports collected by Gordon and other investigators, not independently confirmed biological or extraterrestrial events. The apparent overlap has never established that the two phenomena share a common cause.

One of the best-known alleged UFO-Bigfoot cases occurred near Uniontown, Pennsylvania, on October 25, 1973.
According to accounts later documented by Gordon and other investigators, witnesses reported a bright object apparently descending or hovering near a field. Witnesses who approached the area subsequently reported seeing two tall, hair-covered figures nearby.
Investigators collected witness accounts after the event, but no physical evidence established what either the object or the reported creatures were.
Other Pennsylvania reports from the same period also placed unusual lights, unidentified aerial objects, or Bigfoot-like creatures within relatively close geographic or temporal proximity. Gordon continued to investigate these cases for decades and has discussed the possibility that some anomalous phenomena may overlap.
That remains an investigative hypothesis rather than a conclusion accepted by mainstream science.
